Forsaken VR

The 1998 six-degrees-of-freedom shooter, all around you on Meta Quest.

About

A native VR port of Forsaken, the 1998 hoverbike shooter, built on the ForsakenX community source port. It runs standalone on the Quest: the levels and the title room are rendered in stereo around you, you look around freely while the bike flies on the Touch controllers, and the HUD floats as a see-through panel in front of the ship.

Features

  • Stereo levels and title room with head tracking
  • See-through HUD panel, the crosshair lines up with your guns
  • Hits show as a red glow at the edge of your view
  • Touch controllers as a joystick, remappable in the game's joystick options
  • Runs at 72 Hz

Manual

Installation

  1. Sideload the full APK with SideQuest or adb install -r Forsaken-VR-v0.1.1-beta-full.apk.
  2. Start Forsaken VR from Unknown Sources and allow "All files access" when asked.
  3. The first start unpacks the game data to /sdcard/Forsaken/ (about 185 MB, takes about a minute with a black screen), then the title appears.

Good to know

  • The full APK contains the ForsakenX forsaken-data package (original assets by Probe Entertainment / Acclaim).
  • Your pilots, settings and save games in /sdcard/Forsaken stay across updates.
  • Menus are driven with the sticks and buttons (no laser pointer needed).
  • Multiplayer is untested.

Download

Install from your browser

One click over USB, for Meta Quest and PICO: no SideQuest needed. Works in Chrome or Edge on a PC, Mac or Android phone.

The installer needs JavaScript. Use the manual download below.

First time? Before you start
  1. Turn on developer mode. Quest: Meta Horizon app on your phone → Devices → your headset → Headset settings → Developer mode. PICO: Settings → General → About → tap Software version 7 times, then Settings → Developer → turn on USB debugging.
  2. Connect the headset to this computer with a USB cable that carries data (not a charge-only cable).
  3. Close SideQuest and Meta Quest Developer Hub. If you use adb, run adb kill-server first: only one program can talk to the headset at a time.
  4. Windows: if the headset doesn't show up in the list, install the Meta Quest ADB driver.
  5. After pressing Connect, put on the headset and allow USB debugging for this computer.
